Lawrence Brownlee is excited to announce his 2018-19 season, continuing his presence in the major opera houses of the US and Europe, going on a 12-stop US tour with bass-baritone Eric Owens, and adding to the musical conversation about the black experience in America with Jason Moran and Alicia Hall Moran as part of “Migrations: The Making of America — A Citywide Festival” at Carnegie Hall in March 2019.
The season begins with two evenings of duets with bass-baritone Eric Owens, hosted by the Cliburn (September 20 and 21), followed by a night of arias at The Concertgebouw (October 31), before returning to Opéra national de Paris for Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola (November 23 to December 26). He also performs Elvino in La sonnambula at Opernhaus Zürich (May 5 to May 12) and Deutsche Oper Berlin (May 19 to 25), and Arturo in I Puritani at Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège (June 16 to June 28). Role debuts this season include Nadir in Bizet’s The Pearl Fishers with Houston Grand Opera (January 25 to February 8) and Ilo in Rossini’s Zelmira with Washington Concert Opera (April 5).
